This is the second course in ARTS:LIVE’s Dance Your Socks Off series. Now you’ve created a ‘dance vocabulary’ or Alphabet Dance, we’ll take you through a process of inventing transition moves and forming simple choruses to combine all the elements of the dance. The lessons will also support students to consider the role of music and timing. Through the lesson series students have an opportunity to explore different dance styles, exercise their bodies in creative ways and practice spelling at the same time. Remembering all the moves is a workout for both your memory and your body!

By challenging viewers to rethink their wastefulness, contemporary visual artist Ash Keating explores the growing environmental problems facing our society - including issues of over-consumption and waste.

In a series of group activities, children will be led through a ‘story building’ process, creating and taking on character roles and bringing ideas to life. Children will be encouraged and supported to lead the story themselves - they will make decisions, solve problems, create images and sounds, imagine settings, and stay in character throughout the process.
